Surface Pro line in October will get a version with an Intel Core i3 processorand meanwhile Microsoft will go in a completely different direction with Surface Laptop 3. Some time ago we mentioned that Microsoft may plan a partnership with AMD, due to unsatisfactory results of cooperation with Intel. Then the topic subsided a bit, and the aforementioned leaks regarding the Surace Pro configuration suggest that such a change will not occur. In the meantime it is possible that it will happen, but it will not be as drastic as expected.
Of course, Microsoft was not completely offended at Intel, just looking for alternatives and wants to give users more opportunities. Surface Laptop 3 may be the first Surface device with AMD processor. This will not be the only configuration and will coexist with classic versions with Intel Core systems. It is not known 100% what processors will be used and whether such change will occur at all. However, it can be assumed Ryzen 5 3550H or Ryzen 7 3750H.
It's not everything! Until now, Surface Laptop was only offered with a 13.3-inch screen. This is definitely enough for writing e-mails or browsing the Web, but for more advanced tasks, such compact sizes may not be enough. That is why Surface Laptop may appear in a new 15-inch version. This will provide more work space, and a larger housing can also result in better cooling performance and a larger battery. However, rumors are just rumors, and everything will be explained on October 2.
