Mike Ybarra leaves Microsoft after 20 years of work. Xbox has lost an important manager

After nearly 20 years of working at Microsoft, Mike Ybarra, CVP Gaming department, announced his departure. He said goodbye to the company and players on Twitter, thanking the Xbox team for their work and the fans for their support.

After 20 years at Microsoft, it's time for my next adventure. It was a great Xbox ride and the future is bright. Thank you all from Team Xbox, I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved, and I wish you all the best. Soon more about what's next with me (super excited)! Most importantly, I want to thank all colleagues – players and our great fans for their support. Keep playing. I hope to see you online soon!

Ybarra began his career in the technology industry at Hewlett-Packard as a hardware engineer, and joined Microsoft in 1999 as the Program Manager responsible for the implementation and adaptation of key functionalities of the Windows platform. In the company he played various roles, including main manager of Windows 7 and the Xbox Live team. He was also a Partner Studio Manager at Xbox Studios, where he looked after Microsoft Studios publications on Xbox. Finally, in recent years, he was the director of the Management Program at Xbox and managed the team responsible for creating comprehensive customer and developer experiences on Xbox consoles as well as on computers and telephones with Windows.
